A: Anna Krith – Journalist
H: Hazal Kalkavan – TV Presenter & New Youtuber
A: Tell me about your journey in Beşiktaş J.K. Football Team.
H: Besiktas is more than a football team for me. It is not only a club but also a way of thinking that has a great impact on our lives. I was born into it and I live with it. After completing the education, I wanted to be in the club, and so I did a program on Beşiktaş TV for 3 years.
A: What is the reference point in the Beşiktaş team, in your opinion?
H: Philosophy, Posture from the past and supporters of the team.
A: If I am not mistaken, in an interview you said that you are leaving Beşiktaş, because you didn’t find the appropriate environment. Is that true? If yes, give me some details about your decision.
H: I did not leave Beşiktaş. I would never do that. I left my mission at the TV channel and chose not to talk. Of course there are things to talk about when the time comes, but now it is not the time. My heart belongs to this club and it will stay like that as long as I live.
A: In an episode of the Turkish TV show Dolunay, Can Yaman and Hakan Kurtaş brought their nephew, Bulut (Alihan Türkdemir), in the stadium of Beşiktaş. What do you recall from that day? Wasn’t it fun?
H: I have known Can Yaman before- he came to my television programme a few times. I met Alihan Türkdemir and Hakan Kurtaş that day and indeed, it was a really fun shoot. The energies were very high. I hope they will be very successful in their new projects. All three are very good supporters of Beşiktaş.
A: What is something you think you will regret in the future not starting now and what is something you already regret not starting sooner?
H: I studied International Business and Management, in London. My father wanted it. He didn’t allow me to study Art, because he wanted me to work with him. But it didn’t happen. When I came back to Turkey, I told my dad ‘I studied what you wanted from me, but now it is my turn to start a degree on Art”. First, I was really disappointed to lost my time in London. But, now I feel really happy about the experiences I had there and I understood why my father wanted me to study business. By the way, there is nothing that I am not starting now that will cause me to regret in the future, as I think that I am doing what I should and want to do at this moment.
A: What memory do you just keep going back to?
H:The time my husband proposed me. I couldn’t forget about it; he gathered all of my close friends in our school. It was really unexpected. He proposed where we started to our relationship in our 1st anniversary and it was very emotional.
A: What do you wish you had more time for?
H: Sports and reading.
A: What is your destination for the trip of your dreams? Have you ever visited Greece or Cyprus?
H: I have been to Athens in Greece and in many other islands. I love your people very much. You are very close to us and I feel myself at home. I had the chance to travel North of Cyprus. I love the island of Aphrodite, more in the summer. It is very pleasant to open the season in Cyprus, especially when the weather is not warm in Istanbul.
But, unfortunately, because of the political reasons we couldn’t visit South Cyprus ,directly, we should fly via Greece. I heard Ayia Napa, Limassol and Larnaca are very amusing and fun. Also, I dream of going to Japan, Cuba and Tanzania. I hope I will have the chance to be there soon and shoot for my new programme which is called “Fıldır Fıldır”.
A: What is your mission in life? Are you working on any project at the moment?
H: I am only focusing on “Fıldır Fıldır”. We are traveling the world with my husband. He shoots and I talk about our experiences in different countries and I give advice to the people about what to do and what places must be visited. We have a lot of fun while we shoot and travel. I hope the audience enjoys it as much as we do. I love my job and I plan my career in this direction. I might have surprises on the new season on TV.
