American reality TV Show “Revenge Body” with Khloe Kardashian, that premiered on the E!, is the ultimate way to “payback” all the people who made you feel alone, undesired and treated you like trash.
Stephanie Perez, is one of the “Revenge Body” contestants who labels herself as the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend”) of her friend group.
In an exclusive interview to Journalist Anna Krith, Stephanie, opens up about how the reality show changed her life while she talks about Khloe Kardashian and her next move after “Revenge Body”.
A: Why did you decide to participate in ‘Revenge Body’?
S: I came across the application on social media after Khloé shared it. I read the description and felt that it was speaking to me. I was super hesitant to share my story out there because I was embarrassed of how I looked.
A: What’s your experience? (The reason behind ‘Revenge’)
S:I wanted to prove to the people that have doubted me in my life that I am capable of getting my life back on track. I wanted to show everyone that I wasn’t the ugly fat friend, that I could be beautiful.
A: What are your biggest insecurities about your body?
S: My biggest insecurities about my body were definitely my face, stomach and arms. And not to mention my nails. I used to get teased in high school for never having my nails done nice like the other girls.
A: What’s your opinion on Khloe Kardashian? (after meeting her?)
S: Khloé Kardashian is a true angel. She helped me in many ways by giving me this opportunity. She helped me to grow as a person and taught me to be a better woman than I’ve ever been. She is such a genuine soul and I love everything about her.
A: Did she give you any advice in general?
S:She taught me how to walk in heels, which is something I’ve always struggled with. She helped me not care what others think and to love myself.
A: Do you think that after the show you will be a different person?
S: I am definitely a different person now. I am so happy with myself. I feel confident and surround myself with more positive people so it is a lot easier for me to be truly happy.
A: Is it hard to share your story with millions of people? Do you think that people would identify with your story?
S: It was definitely difficult to share my story with the world. Especially in the beginning when I was overweight and hadn’t transformed yet. It was hard to show my body because I was nervous I possibly wasn’t able to do it. I think many people will identify with my story because I feel there are many young boys and girls that don’t feel happy about themselves, and have people around them reminding them of their insecurities. I hope to inspire others to have more confidence and to ignore the haters.
A: Do you think that after getting revenge, your ‘bff Miranda’ will change her attitude towards you?
S: Depending on if she changed or not as a person, it could change how she feels. I hope I can impress her.
A: What’s your next move after the show?
S:My next move is to continue to improve myself and to help others to be able to improve themselves. I’m creating a website to help people with tips and with meal plans I used to lose weight.
A: Do you have a message for the people that face similar challenges in life?
S: I would have to say that if you are surrounded by people that are making you feel that way, get new friends and new surroundings. And if you feel like that on your own, you should try to improve yourself in any way you can do in order to feel confident – whether that be lose weight, see a dermatologist, or learning to love yourself.
